Jacquese L. Conaway, Candidate for United States Congress

1.  LISTEN & SERVE

2. Start a PROTECT WORKING FAMILIES' DIGNITY PROGRAM; I would fight gas price & mortgage rate gouging. I would consider supporting an immediate adjustable rate & foreclosures freeze for 6 months during which a Congressional investigation will completed and solutions to keep families in their homes and bring transportation costs to affordable levels can be worked out on a bi-partisan basis.

3. Start a REBUILD AMERICA & RESTORE LIVING WAGE JOBS PROGRAM by funding the rebuilding of our heavy industries and manufacturing by providing low interest loans to entrepreneurs and struggling domestic industries, passing appropriate legislation to protect American industry.

4. Start a comprehensive KEEP THE PROMISE TO OUR VETS.  Returning vets need medical, economic and education retraining assistance. It should not be doled out by contractors and or institutions with an economic incentive in denying access to those benefits.

5. Start a AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROMISE PROGRAM.  When American families work full time, they should have access to affordable decent and safe housing. Unused inventory of closed base housing and foreclosed and empty tracks of homes that for the foreseeable future will not be sold, should be opened to working families and the cost of same indexed to their financial ability to pay. The payment of rental/lease income will create an income stream to the owners while the country recovers and the quality of life improves for those who get access to the housing.

6. Pass an IMMIGRATION FAIRNESS LAW. Illegal immigration creates an unfair economic advantage for employers that hire illegals. People that hire citizens, pay more and by that have higher overhead and less profits. Employers that hire illegals must be fined. Employers that can prove they hired only US Citizens or green card holding aliens, should be able to sue the employers hiring illegal aliens in court for the lost income. In addition, the federal government should be allowed to fine those employers hiring illegals. The illegal also should not be rewarded. A track (or path) for applying for citizenship should be created for those that wish to stay in the United States. Fines for having violated the law should be imposed and fully paid before any immigrant is able to get sworn in as a citizen (as well as taking English and citizenship classes).  Drivers licenses should NOT be issued unless and until the immigrant becomes a US Citizen or is in the process of seeking citizenship or has an INS issued green card and or work visa AND has completed an English comprehension course. I would support legislation that would offset the expense incurred by any State providing medical care to any illegals, against any bond payments owed by the United States to the country of origin of that illegal resident.

7. Pass a UNIVERSAL HIGHWAY SAFETY LAW. No NAFTA drivers can enter or operate in the United States without having passed the state of entry's driver safety and hazmat courses AND following the same rest and physical requirements that US drivers have. No NAFTA vehicles can enter and or operate without fully complying with federal DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and the laws and regulations of the state in which the NAFTA vehicle operates.

8. Pass a NO FAMILY WILL GO HUNGRY LAW.  No child or family shall go without nutritionally adequate food. The government will coordinate private foundations, charitable groups, state and federal resources to distribute nutritionally adequate food to all that seek it with a no questions asked policy.

9. Support efforts to wind down and or redeploy American military operations oversees so as to not compromise objective national security interests.
